The cradle for cultivating plant doctors
The Plant Medicine Department is the first of its kind in Taiwan. It teaches students how to diagnose and manage plant diseases, insect pests, grass pests, and identifying pests. Students are trained to diagnose, manage, and identify pests.
Plant disease and insect pest diagnosis and management services
A “Plant Medicine Teaching Hospital” has been established to provide students with first-hand experience to train front-line botanists. We help farmers identify plant diseases and pests and give advice on how to manage and treat the crops.
Nurturing expertise knowledge
Our department has a “microbial agents researching and developing center” to support plant doctors. The center offers a training program that provides credits for cultivating talents in microbial agent research and development. This aligns with the national goal of reducing the use of chemical pesticides and helps plant doctors have more varied control tactics.
